Finsbury Park Mosque.....

It's still going. Under a different name. With 'new leadership.' Just a reminder.

Donating books to schools:
The interactive workbooks, entitled The Bad Apples: Let’s talk about Anti-social Behaviour, will be sent to Ambler Primary School, in Blackstock Road, to help pupils respond to nuisance behaviour such as littering, drunkenness and vandalism.

The mosque, formerly the North London Central Mosque, had a bad reputation when radical preacher Abu Hamza was based there a decade ago.

Since the current owners took over in 2005, they have worked hard to foster a responsible image, with this book donation the latest in a series of community projects.

Mohammed Kozbar, trustee of Finsbury Park Mosque, said: “It is important that charities like ours contribute to their local community to tackle issues such as the anti-social behaviour and try to contribute toward community cohesion and build a peaceful atmosphere within the society”.

Hey, here is some video footage of Mohammad Kozbar (well known activist with the British Muslim Initiative (Hamas's sister group in the UK) and other anti-Western, Jew-hate groups) contributing to community cohesion and building a peaceful atmosphere.
Here is the text of his speech:
“We are partners in struggle. … Today, with our brothers and sisters who were on these ships, we can tell them we are with you, along with you, brothers and brothers. Your blood is our blood. What has happened to you has happened to us. (inaudible) With thousands of people come to the street. Your blood is our blood. The Israeli government, the Israeli government aim, by this cowardly action, to send a message. Believe me, they want to send a message to us. To tell us, to tell everyone who help the Palestinian people, especially those who are trying to break the siege of Gaza, they want to intimidate us, they want to make us scared, in order to give up what we are doing. But they do not know with whom they are dealing with. They do not know they we are defiant. ….we tell them we accept your challenge. We accept your challenge and you will see it in the very near future insha’allah. And the next time they will not be facing only a few ships, they will be facing tens of ships and thousands of people. Finally, our thoughts are with those who lost their lives and we tell them your blood did not go for nothing. God willing, your blood will be a curse on your murderers. And God willing, your blood will break the siege on Gaza. My final message to you, be proud of yourselves because the people of Gaza are proud of you.

Sounds like peace and love and unicorns, doesn't it?

Iran, Democracy, and Kaffir Kanuck

Check it out.

We, the undersigned, are gravely troubled about the Canadian National Art Center’s involvement and participation in the Islamic government of Iran’s upcoming ‘Cultural Event’ scheduled for June 4th, 2011. Our concerns are based on thirty-two years of the Islamic government’s deliberate neglect and destruction of Iran’s past cultural heritage and history.

Britain pledges over 2million to Auschwitz

Believe me when I say, I do not think this is a bad thing. At all.

However as my colleague over at Closet Conservative would say, Europeans just love heaping money and politics on dead Jews, don't they?

I agree, there are many, many lessons that need to be learned from the Holocaust. I just don't think Europe has learned them.

Disgusting: Mugabe's Henchman Granted Asylum in UK

Daily Mail:
At an asylum appeal hearing in Newport, South Wales, Mr Justice David Archer said Machemedze was 'deeply involved in savage acts of extreme violence'.
The tribunal also heard that some of the tortures 'were too gruesome to recount'.
He added: 'Whatever crimes he has committed he cannot be returned to face the highly likely prospect of torture and execution without trial, the Sun reported.
The appeal hearing was brought by the Home Office and followed a judgment earlier this month which allowed the pair to stay in Britain indefinitely but did not grant asylum.
At the earlier hearing, Senior Immigration Judge Robert Martin said: 'It is true that Phillip Machemedze committed abhorrent acts and deserves no sympathy or favours.
'However, it is also true that we are bound by the European Convention on Human Rights and Articles 2 and 3 are absolute,' New Zimbabwe reported.
Kate Hoey, Labour MP and head of the Commons All Party Group on Zimbabwe, said: 'This is a shocking decision. Asylum is for people who are at risk from despots, not for people like him.'

How about that EU referendum, Cameron??

For the past several years, several Saturdays a month a group of Zimbabweans and concerned activists have held peaceful protests outside Zimbabwe's embassy in London. I have seen them out and chatted with them several times. With them they always have pictures of victims who have been tortured and killed by Mugabe's henchmen. These images are absolutely horrific and stomach churning. That one of the monsters who committed these acts is allowed to live, on my tax dollars, in the UK is yet another example of how pathetic this once great country has become.

Don't count on any outpouring of outrage.

Huron University College Major Donors Tied Directly to Terror-Funding

Via BCF:
When we looked for information on the IIIT & the MAC we didn't look into the Islamic Centre for Southwestern Ontario (ICSO), located in London, Ontario, although it was mentioned as a financial contributor in the LFP announcement described above. Something has happened in the last few days, however, that makes it necessary to bring this organisation into the story now. On May 7, 2011, there was an article in the Ottawa Citizen entitled, ″Gadhafi charity in Canada linked to terrorism. Government revokes status of World Islamic Call Society" (WICS). In that article we learned that a Qaddafi charity was sending money from Libya to the personal bank account of a gentleman named Assem Fadel, who then transferred the money from his personal account in to the bank account of the only branch in Canada of the Libya-based WICS, which also happens to be located in London, Ontario. Money was then transferred from the WICS account to terrorist organisations outside Canada. This was the reason the government of Canada removed the charitable status of the WICS. Question: Why is this relevant to the funding of the Chair in Islamic studies at Huron College? Answer: It just so happens that the president and director of the Islamic Centre for Southwestern Ontario is none other than Assem Fadel and he is also the president of the Canadian branch of the WICS. Here we have a clear and indisputable link between Qaddafi-sponsored terrorist related activities involving the president of the Islamic Centre of Southwestern Ontario, a funding organisation of the chair in Islamic Studies. This link can not be denied by Huron College even if Assem Fadel claims an innocent explanation for what transpired. This didn't happen years ago. It happened just over a week ago.

Assem Fadel is not the only local promoter of the Islamic studies project with links to the World Islamic Call Society. At least two other major proponents of the chair in Islamic studies have attended conferences of the World Islamic Call Society in Libya. They are Faisal Joseph, a prominent lawyer in London who is closely involved with HUC, and Munir el-Kassem, a dental surgeon who is also the ex-Muslim chaplain of the University of Western Ontario.
Read the full letter here.

Saint Jihadi Among the Hurons is right.
Let's see HUC principal Trish Fulton try and talk her way out of this (because she will try).
According to Huron's homepage, "Huron promises and education that will launch a lifetime of experiences." Will those experiences now include internships in terror at Hamas and media relations stints for Libyan terrorists?

Paging all Huron alumni, donors, current students and parents of current students...

Two thumbs way up for Air Canada: Moazzem Begg barred from flying LHR - YYZ

Fresh off the press:
Dennis Edney, who represents Canadian Guantanamo detainee Omar Khadr, had invited Moazzam Begg to speak at a conference Saturday on fear and justice and building bridges between Muslims and other communities.

Begg, a British man who was released from Guantanamo in 2005 and has since become an advocate for Guantanamo prisoners' rights, attempted to fly from London to Toronto on Friday morning.

But Air Canada told him the Canadian High Commission refused him permission to board on the basis that the plane "could be re-routed to the United States," Edney said.

"He's disappointed," Edney said of Begg. "He has a sense of Canada that may not be there. He has a sense that we stand up for rights and justice, that we're that kind of people. The reality is we take our orders from the United States."

The U.S. has accused Begg of being a member of al-Qaeda, as well as recruiting for them, attending training camps and sending money and support.

Begg admits to supporting militant Muslims in Bosnia, Chechnya and Kashmir, but says he does not support suicide bombers or the Sept. 11 attacks. He even admits to buying a handgun in Afghanistan, but says he never received military training or planned to fight.

Yeah poor Mo Begg who was coming to Canada on behalf of Cage Prisoners. The group that praises Osama bin Laden and wrote a piece about assassinating President Obama.

And so today I saw thank you Canadian High Commission (and I guess Air Canada, even though it appears they did not have a choice) for keeping this terror supporting asshat out of Canada. Unfortunatley Omar Khadr is still in the country (Canada).

"It's Judenhaas masturbation..."

Things I wish I had thought of myself:

My first thoughts are still "Six Days, Bitch".

There really is no way to "return" to the 1967 borders. This is a lefty/Jew-hating/jihadi Nazi fantasy. It's Judenhaas masturbation in a way.

Anyone who has been to Israel can understand that cities like Ma'aleh Adumim and Ariel among others cannot be moved, or their Jews uprooted to somewhere else-like graveyards, ovens, the Mediterranean or Africa.

These are full fledged, functional cities-not little groups of caravans.

Islamic Institute of Toronto decides the local radicals just aren't cutting it....

Imports bigger fish.

Douglass also has ties to CAIR and The International Institute of Islamic Thought both Muslim Brotherhood front organizations with the latter in the news over its controversial funding relationship with the University of Western Ontario's Huron College.

Obama shows his true colours

All I can say is wow.

To anyone who actually knows anything about Obama, today's speech would be zero surprise. To everyone else who is going to act "shocked" by this speech (if they even know that it happened): YOU are part of the problem.

Exit question: Do you think Obama and Rashid Khalidi ever shopped together at Whole Foods?

Exit question 2: If Yasser Arafat was still alive, would he and Obama enjoy some qt while staring at their Nobel Peace Prizes and dreaming up plans to wipe Israel off the map?

Whole Foods Hearts Palestine - Committed to promoting propaganda

Strolling through Whole Foods in Kensington the other day, I almost fell into my cart when I saw a very chic looking Palestinian Cuisine cookbook for sale.
What a sleek piece of nation building propaganda. But who wrote this cookbook? What ties do they have? What exactly is Whole Foods promoting through the sale of this book (besides a nation that does not exist, and a made-up people who serve as puppets for the Arab world when they need to muster up some fire against Israel)?

Christiane Dabdoub Nasser, the book's author, has been a player in several Palestinian endeavors such as the Bethlehem Project, and she worked at the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation until 2008. A quick read through documents relating to these organizations is a great lesson in Pali propaganda.

The Bethlehem 2000 Project was a Palestinian initiative which received a cool 25Million USD from the World Bank, in addition to private funding and monies from other national governments, to improve infrastructure and promote tourism, all in the name of nation building. Through this funding, the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation was founded (and funded). You can read the full report on the Bethlehem 2000 Project here, it is 41 pages but worth having a glance at. The B2000Project funded numerous initiatives, and in the end guess who was blamed for the project's uncontrollable shortcomings?
You guessed it: Israel.

The overriding and ultimately decisive factor was the Israeli military response to the Palestinian Intifada. This led to the occupation of the area municipalities, the curtailment of the movement of people and goods, the devastation of the Palestinian economy, the crippling of the tourist industry and, of course, the inability to implement key project subcomponents.

Apparently the Intifada would have been alright, as long as Israel had not responded to it.

The Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation dabbles in various local projects, and is largely established for the purpose of building a national Palestinian identity. Sweden now provides a large amount of funding to the centre, and a highly recommend having a look at this February 2011 report about the centre and its goals (and Sweden's goals).
Guess what the first word of the report is?
You betcha: Israel.

A couple excerpts:
With the Israeli occupation of lands internationally recognized as the basis for a Palestinian state, and the de facto colonization by Israel of parts of these lands through a policy of settlement, the historical Palestinian cultural landscape has achieved an increased strategic importance. As the Israeli settlements have become de facto statements of Israeli sovereignty, restored and preserved Palestinian sites and buildings have become de facto statements of Palestinian presence and legitimacy. In the city of Jerusalem, where Israel is claiming full national sovereignty and where the Palestinian population(more than one third) is largely treated as an unwanted minority, the political significance of cultural heritage preservation cannot be underestimated.

As the territorial extension of a future Palestinian State continues to be a matter of contention, and with the seemingly never-ending expansion of Israeli settlements in the area of Jerusalem and the occupied territories, the preservation of historic Palestinian sites and buildings has become part of a Palestinian strategy for de facto state-building.

A large part of this heritage was lost in the aftermath of the war of 1948 when two thirds of all Arabic villages in the part of Palestine which became Israel, were wiped out. In the remaining parts of Palestine, Gaza and the West Bank, a lesser but similar form of destruction took place during and in the aftermath of the war of 1967,with whole villages being erased from the map. Under Israeli occupation destruction of cultural heritage has continued.

(Hey I wonder if the authors of this report are from Malmo?)

What kind of projects is the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation funding??
According to their website, on June 13 2007 the centre inaugurated the Dar Abu Swayy in Artas. There are few Abu Swayys in the world, incidentally one Daoud Abu Swayy (who was from Artas), carried out a suicide attack in Israel. He blew himself up in the Jerusalem Hilton. Coincidence??

Christiane Dabdoub Nasser wrote an article about her cookbook, which was published in This Week in Palestine. Here, in her own words, relating food and her cookbook to the need for Palestinians to triumph over the evil Israelis:

The incremental closures of the last few years, intermittent embargoes and an increasingly depressed economy have been looming factors in changing many people>s lives, including their eating habits, and the isolation of Jerusalem has been dramatic for aficionados of cosmopolitan cooking who can no longer shop for these little extras that add a touch of exoticism on their table. I am quite aware that
gourmet experiences are not a priority when so many are deprived of the basic necessities of life, and am by no means trying to belittle the much graver existential concerns that arise as a result of the degradation of the political
and economic situation, and the moral issues that have surfaced as a result of the erection of this ignominious Segregation Wall, which is scarring our landscape at the four points of the horizon. I am just pointing out to yet another threatened aspect of our quotidian, our culinary habits, which cannot be eluded or underestimated. Small as it is in the larger scheme of our national survival, this aspect of our life reflects in fact another instance of the erosion of our culture and a regression of the remarkable cosmopolitanism it has proudly cultivated over the centuries and which had distinguished it in the region. When all indications point towards the threatening growth of a monolithic, mono-vocal culture in our midst, then everything should be of concern, even our food practices.

You can click here to read the full article. Check out the whole issue, which just doesn't really coincide with the whole life in Palestine is unliveable narrative.

So, when will Whole Foods start carrying an Israeli cookbook? Don't hold your breath.

Crime Family Planned to Portray Hit an Imam as Far-Right Crime

Well this is interesting:
An alleged Arab Israeli Jaffa crime organization planned to detonate a bomb under the car of a Muslim sheikh last month over a business dispute and then spray paint 'price-tag' graffiti in the area in order to draw blame on the far right, police suspect.

A total of eight suspects have been under arrest since last month, including four brothers from one family and two brothers from another family. A fourth suspect worked as a lawyer in the Justice Ministry. They had already assembled a powerful bomb, and were stopped by a police raid on a home in Jaffa in April hours before they planned on planting the device, a law enforcement source said. They had allegedly planned to detonate the advice after evening prayers at a Jaffa mosque. Police believe a disastrous outcome was averted thanks to the raid.

Area of Central London Evacuated Due to Suspicious Package *Updated*

An area of Central London, near Trafalgar Square, has been evacuated due to a suspicious package outside one of the hotels.

It's probably nothing but will post updates as I get them.

Update: The evacuation has ended. The BBC is now reporting that the Met received coded bomb threats relating to Central London earlier. A reminder to stay alert.

Huron University College Executive: MAC and IIIT completely align with our values

Dear Students, Parents of Students, and Alumni of Huron University College,

Pull out all your money. Write emails. Now.

You may have already seen this over at Jawa or BCF, but in case you have not:

I asked her what constituted "due diligence." Fulton said they had "reviewed the court decisions on allegations" against IIIT and its principals. They had also reviewed the experience of Temple University (alluded to in Palmer's letter). To my question of whether she felt the beliefs and principles of MAC and IIIT were "compatible with your values," she replied a prompt and firm "yes." I asked the question again, stipulating that by "your," I meant "Huron College." Again, she replied, "Yes, they are."

Elaborating, Fulton explained that for Huron, due diligence extends only to the "activities of the donors," adding, "We don't probe deeply into values held by donors." Huron, she said, is "concerned about the legitimacy and the civic presence" of donors, but "not the views they may hold on a wide variety of cultural issues." In Fulton's view, it is only a group's "actions" that would "compromise the academic pursuit."

Just for review:
Indeed, MAC boldly states as much on its website.

Hassan Al-Banna is the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). The MB is universally acknowledged as the root of modern Arab-Muslim fundamentalism, and the source from which al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups draw their inspiration and validation. The MB's motto is: "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qu'ran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." The captured 1991 Brotherhood strategic plan for Canada and the US declares:

The process of settlement is a 'Civilization-Jihadist Process,' with all the word means. The Ikhwan [MB] must understand that their work in America is kind of a grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.

The letter to Fulton lays out the IIIT's disturbing background in some detail:

Two examples of IIIT's involvement with terror: In 2003, Shaykh Taha Jabir al-Alwani, a co-founder and former president of the IIIT, was cited as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the trial of Sami al-Arian, an Islamist activist who served a 57-month prison sentence in the United States for conspiring to channel funds to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a designated terrorist group in the United States and Canada. In pleading guilty, al-Arian admitted that he knew that the PIJ engaged in suicide bombings and other "horrific and deadly acts of violence" against the people of Israel.

Jamal Barzinji, founding member and current vice-President of the IIIT, has likewise been implicated in funding for terrorists. In a sworn affidavit filed in 2003, a senior special agent with the United States Customs Service testified: "I believe that Barzinji is not only closely associated with PIJ as evidenced by ties to Al-Arian...but also with HAMAS.

Cage Prisoners Praises bin Laden, writes satire piece on assassination of President Obama *UPDATED*

UPDATED: see bottom for update
A few days ago Caged Prisoners' legal advisor Irfan Salah Butt, published an article about Bin Laden's assassination. Here are some excerpts:
You can fool most of the American people most of the time but you cannot fool the rest of the world all the time.

If one is to believe the astonishing story of the body of Osama bin Laden being thrown into the sea the US administration could not have done a better job to add insult to injury and incite further violence against itself.

It also shows the utter hatred of the enemy and fear of a man that dared to challenge the might of the superpower of our times.
Nothing like a little praise for that daring challenger of authority, OBL.

Pakistan has aided the USA more than any other country in the War on Terror and thus it makes no sense that it would harbour Osama bin Laden.
Um........

Caged Prisoners also published a mock write-up about the assassination of US President Barack Obama, by Pakistani forces. The write-up included a photoshopped picture of what is supposed to be a Barack Obama, shot in the face.

.Excerpt:
Crowds gathered outside the Red Mosque in Islamabad, chanting "Allah Akbar" after the news brokeForeign Minister of Pakistan, Mullah Jundullah said the operation sent a signal to the Neoconservatives in both the US and Britain.
"You cannot wait us out, you cannot defeat us, but you can make the choice to abandon the CIA and participate in a peaceful political process," she said.

***
Obama’s probable successor, Tony Blair, was "far less charismatic and not as well respected within the organisation", according to reports from captured Neoconservative operatives, the official said.
However, the root causes of Neoconservatism - the range of issues that enabled the Neocons to recruit disaffected young liberals to its cause – hatred of Islam, oil and power - remain, for the most part, unaddressed, Neoconservative affairs analyst Rajinder Harbin told the BBC.
"The death of Obama will strike at the morale of the global ‘war on terror’, but is unlikely to end it," he warned.
'Momentous achievement'
World leaders welcomed the news of Obama’s death.
French President Jean Luc Blanc said Obama had "paid for his actions".
British Prime Minister Ed Milliband said the killing was a "great victory" but added that he "didn't know the details" of the Pakistani operation.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Salim described the news as a "momentous achievement".
"The fight against terror goes on, but tonight Pakistan has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," Mr Salim said in a statement.
But a spokesman for the English Defence League threatened revenge attacks against the "Muslamic and British governments and their security forces".
In the Israeli enclave of Tel Aviv, which is governed by militant group IDF, Prime Minister Ariel Lieberman condemned the killing of "a peaceful man".

On May 11, Cage Prisoners released a statement saying that this satirical article was merely meant to show that they do not condone extra-judicial killings. Of course.

****
And for those of you still on the Human Rights Watch bandwagon - apparently they are now making contributions to Cage Prisoners website, and putting on events in conjunction with them. This particular example is in relation to their undying support for Omar Khadr.

Good news for Canadians: As previously reported, Cage Prisoner reps are coming to Canada!! Paging Jason Kenney....

UPDATE: After doing some more reading, I see that Harry's Place did a write-up yesterday about Cage Prisoners, their ties to Amnesty and their funding (funded by the Quakers fyi).
It is worth checking out.

Erdogan: Hamas is not a terrorist group

Where is terrorism? They entered into the elections and after the elections this is how they were reacted, I mean, calling them terrorists, this would be disrespect to the will of the Palestinian people," Erdogan said

Following this logic, calling Nazis genocidal maniacs during the Holocaust would have been disrespect to the will of the German people?

Amateur hour on Downing Street: Cameron invites Libyan rebels to set up shop in London

Addressing Jalil, he said: "These steps signal our very clear intent to work with you and your colleagues to ensure that Libya has a safe and stable future, free from the tyranny of the Kadhafi regime."

Cameron said it was "impossible to imagine a real future for Libya with Kadhafi in power and
we will continue to support the development of an open, democratic and free Libya".

"Just as Kadhafi can have no part in the political transition that lies ahead, it is clear that the National Transitional Council will play a leading role," he said.

It's the Morning-After Pill - and it's free! free! free!

Just got back from my local Boots (the UK equivalent of Shoppers or Walgreens), where a sign posted at the cash register indicates that (thanks to new NHS rules and regulations) girls aged 22 and under can now pop down to the local pharmacy and pick up the Morning-After pill - free. No questions asked. Sans payment. Gratis.

And so we have a society teaching its young that responsibility is not necessary and that actions do not have consequences, and any potential consequences can be undone the next day.

There was no sign indicating that the Morning-After Pill does not get rid of STDs.

Best weekend ever????

Let's recap:
Safe and secure, uninterrupted royal wedding on Friday: Check.

Biggest UFC in North America (ever) on Saturday: Check.

Osama bin Laden killed by Navy SEALs on Sunday: Check.

Canada elects Conservative majority on Monday: Check. Check.

Awesome.

I will comment on the worrying rise of the NDP later. For now...

I am hitting the road on a celebratory tour! Will be back online at the end of the week.

A couple of updates:
First - Closet Conservative is back from her Passover break. Go and read.

Second: SMW has received a couple emails regarding traveling in Europe and overseas after Osama bin Laden's death. My thoughts on this are: use your head. Follow the warnings posted on your embassy's website. I would say you should probably cancel any shopping trips to Lahore. Just saying. If you come to London right now I wouldn't go running through the Tower Hamlet's with a Team USA shirt on (actually running is the only way I would go through the Tower Hamlet's), but otherwise just use your common sense. We are always on alert, so just be vigilant. We try to avoid the tube at rush hour anyway because of the crowds, but beyond that life is normal. I am traveling for most of this week and the husband is also out and about. Not changing any plans out of fear....oh except I am not sure if I am going to wear my US Army shirt when I go for a workout. Unless there are any SEALs out there who want to volunteer to run with me?
