Of Ann Coulter, Camels and a girl...*updated*

*Update see below*
When I first heard about this story I debated posting the link because it involves a 17 year old girl. Well the debate is over I am posting it. If she can be the head story on CTV News than a little post on SMW is not going to cause any more trouble. The media is flush with stories of Ann Coulter's speech at the University of Western Ontario last night - and based on MSM reports one might think she just walked up to this little Muslim girl and told her to 'ride a camel.' Not quite. For a full report from the festivities head on over to Blazing Cat Fur.

Of note: this 'girl' belongs(ed) to a Facebook fan page entitled "It's called Palestine Not Israel!" (way to go screenshots!!)

Also of note: Lumpy Grumpy and Frumpy (another cool cat) has a picture of this girl reading her question off from her Blackberry. Now, maybe she needed notes to quote Ann, maybe she prepared her question in advance.......point is this whole kerfuffle was no accident. It was planned, staged, whatever you want to call it and was executed by a girl who counts hating Israel as one of her hobbies.

Shocker, I know. Dont hold your breath for CTV to add this to their report.

Update: Moose and Squirrel has a good recount of the question and response. Hey guess what? A snarky question gets a snarky answer.

Here’s the thing: Poor little Muslima Fatima, stabbed in the heart by the beastly Ann Coulter, had this to say about Coulter’s reply: “She told me to use my camel.” Except, that isn’t what Coulter said. Fatima asked a snarky question: “Since I don’t have a magic carpet, what other modes do you suggest?” Coulter, prodded by the audience shouts of “answer the question,” gave an equally snarky and dismissive reply: “Take a camel.” Hey, Ann wasn’t implying Fatima had a camel of her own; maybe she could rent one somewhere. Heck, I rode one once at the Toronto Zoo. It was an okay ride, if not a we bit slow and bumpy.
