Times Headline: 'Home-schooled children 'at doubled risk of abuse'

What the heck???

The comments came from Graham Badman, the former director of children’s services in Kent who carried out a review of the liberal regime around home education in Britain and recommended it be toughened up.

And kids in state schools are doing sooooo well.

Update: Gerald Warner has an excellent response over at The Telegraph:
Any child eluding state control and the brainwashing into politically correct attitudes that is endemic in schools is intolerable to “progressives”. They cannot realistically abolish the independent schools so, for the moment, they are content to undermine their ethos with PC impositions. That leaves between 20,000 and 50,000 children in Britain being educated at home, in the bosom of their – ugh! – family, the competitor entity the state desperately wants to eliminate.
