Saturday Afternoon's warmilicious

Pouding du chômeur
If you have never had the pleasure of tasting this French-Canadian yumminess today is your lucky day! This dessert will keep you warm in the middle of the coldest winter freeze, and believe me you will want to make it again and again.
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 cup of maple syrup (If you do not have access to maple syrup you can replace it with an additional cup of brown sugar)
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of boiling water
1/4 cup of butter or margarine
1/4 tsp of vanilla
Preheat oven to 170C (325F).
Beat butter and sugar together. Gradually add the milk and flour/baking powder, alternating between the two.
Pour the batter in a greased 9x13inch pan.
On stovetop mix all the sauce ingredients together over medium heat. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Pour the sauce mixture over the batter in pan. At this point it will look like a science experiment gone wrong - but trust SMW - pop it in the oven for 45 minutes and it will come out looking fine and tasting fabulous.
